The Indiana Hoosiers are trending a bigtime recruit. Wide receiver Monshun Sales, the no. 1 wide receiver in the class of 2027, posted on his X account about his visits with head coach Curt Cigentti and offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan. He said “HOO HOO HOO” on his account, leaving many to wonder if he could commit to Indiana.
Sales is a five-star prospect from the class of 2027, per 247Sports. The 6-foot-5, 195-pound receiver plays high school football at Lawrence North in Indianapolis, Indiana, and he is rated as the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 5 overall prospect in his class.
Sales has more visits to Indiana (5) than any other team, besides Michigan. However, On3’s prediction model predicts he could land with the Alabama Crimson Tide, even though he hasn’t gone on a single visit with them.
He would be the best prospect Indiana has had in years. The Hoosiers haven’t signed a five-star high school recruit in program history, and the only two former four-stars on their championship starting lineup were receivers E.J. Williams and Omar Cooper Jr.

That’s part of the novelty of head coach Curt Cignetti: he always does less with more. When he was hired in 2024, he had the 66th ranked recruiting class in the nation and the 30th ranked transfer class. In 2025, he improved his recruiting, but Indiana still had just the 49th ranked recruiting class and 25th ranked transfer portal class.
Still, he’s seemingly found the right guys off the transfer portal each time. Cal transfer quarterback Fernando Mendoza became a Heisman trophy winner under his watch. Maryland transfer running back Roman Hemby and James Madison transfer Kaelon Black each rushed for over 1,000 yards. Ole Miss transfer safety Louis Moore led the Big Ten in interception, and James Madison transfer cornerback D’Angelo Ponds was an All-American.
