Mount Pleasant comes in as one of the pre-seeded teams, making their debut at the CONCACAF Champions Cup. They got into the competition by winning the 2025 Caribbean Cup and play domestically in the Jamaica Premier League. The club is only 10 years old, yet it has already won its first league title in 2023. In the 2024-25 season, Mount Pleasant finished first in the regular season but ultimately fell in the championship game to Cavalier.
LA Galaxy advanced past Round One of the CONCACAF Champions Cup by a tiebreaker, as they tied Sporting San Miguelito 1-1 in the first leg, then tied 0-0 in the second. Because goal differential was identical, the tiebreaker for away goals was used, which the LA Galaxy won 1-0. Their MLS campaign has been similarly average, as they are 1-1-1 after a 1-1 draw against NYCFC, a 3-0 win over Charlotte, and a 4-1 loss to Colorado Rapids.
