In a matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and the Denver Nuggets in Texas, the home team could be without its top star.
Victor Wembanyama, the two-way superstar big man, popped up on the Spurs' official injury report on Wednesday night. According to the team, Wembanyama is dealing with right ankle soreness. He is considered questionable for the matchup.
The game is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing matchups this week, considering it would be a battle of dynamic bigs in Wembanyama and Nikola Jokic.
A Full Look At The Spurs' Injury Report
...The Spurs have a few names on the report dealing with setbacks. However, three of them have been ruled out due to G League designations (Harrison Ingram, David Jones Garcia, and Emmanuel Miller).
Beyond Wembanyama, the Spurs have Harris Barnes as questionable due to a left ankle impingement, and Lindy Waters in question as he deals with an illness.
Victor Wembanyama's 2025-2026 NBA Season
...While Wembanyama did miss a stretch of games from November 16 up until December 13, he's been relatively healthy for most of the year. When he returned to the court for the Spurs in their December 13 matchup, Wembanyama has played in all but two games since--and he's done so at a high level.
This year, Wembanyama has played 51 games. He came off the bench for a handful of matchups as he worked his way back from a calf strain. Despite having limited minutes at a time and averaging under 30 minutes per game, unlike most stars, the Spurs' center has made the most of every moment he's on the court.
This season, Wembanyama is shooting 50% from the field. As he attempts 5.3 threes per game, Wembanyama is shooting at a 36% clip. He is averaging 24.2 points per game.
Along with his scoring, the Spurs' big man is coming down with 11.1 rebounds per game and blocking 3.0 shots per game.
The Spurs and the Nuggets are scheduled for a 9 PM ET tip on Thursday. Wembanyama's status is currently up in the air.
